Pacsafe - Backpack Security Wrap for Eurail Trips

Hopping around Europe on the Eurail trains (aka: EuroRail) is a blast. Those trains are fast, convenient, and clean - which makes an overnight train a great and cheap place to sleep between countries. The biggest problem with sleeping on the train is “slash and dash” theft. Because most students riding Eurail trains are carrying nylon backpacks it’s easy to slice them open with a knife and grab whatever is lose.

The Pacsafe security systems below are 1 to 1.5 lb. stainless steel mesh wraps that can be locked around a duffel or backpack and make it really hard for anyone to pull anything bigger than a golfball out of a pack. When these were first inroduced the gear shop I managed couldn’t keep them in stock and sold them at higher than retail prices. Now the Medium and Large security systems are both under $20 at Sierra Trading Post.
