4.5v Headlamp Battery is Tough to Find

Despite running this site that features all types of fancy camping gear and despite owning a whole lot of gear, I still don’t have an LED headlamp. My classic Petzl Zoom lamp uses a big, fat battery and lasts forever - plus with the halogen bulb I can see forever compared to all the newer LED headlamps I’ve seen. The only problem is that the 4.5v batteries are getting tough to find at gear stores, plus they’re getting expensive (almost $10 at a local Adventure 16 shop). I managed to find them for only $6.40 at Amazon.com for a Duracell 4.5v alkaline battery.

Also, I didn’t find any headlamp batteries, but if you need a cell phone or laptop battery it looks like Batteries.com has more types and sizes than anywhere else I’ve seen in one place.
