The women’s Salomon Smart jacket sports three-ply Gore Windstopper front panels for awesome wind protection. Windstopper is also WAY more breathable then GoreTex. It’s my favorite winter shell fabric since all the precipitation tends to be frozen and getting sweaty is so much more uncomfortable. Since trail running or snowshoeing can build up some perspiration even under Windstopper the back panel is ActiLite nylon-lycra. Front zip pockets keep hands warm before waiting on the curb for the shuttle to the trails and reflective hits ensure passing cars can see you. Salomon also, smartly, built the Smart with flat lock seams and patterns on the back and shoulder areas to make the Smart jacket comfortable to wear with a backpack.
