Hiking shoes like this Salomon Elios XCR have made me reconsider not liking GoreTex-lined footwear. I still think GoreTex boots are only worthwhile in the freezing cold where they breathe well and aren’t likely to wet out and where the extra heat trapped by the GoreTex is appreciated.
