Adding stretch to waterproof fabrics, like GoreTex, is one of the best improvements made to waterproof fabrics in the past several years. Stretch waterproofing is a lot more comfortable than the regular stuff and shell jackets made from it both fit smoother under a pack and are save a few ounces by having less fabric around the shoulders and body.
