Backcountry.com started their semi-annual sale this weekend. Loads of winter and end-of-year products are on sale with pretty big discounts.

In winter (especially during spring melt-and-freeze season) and on rocky, desert trips they can save your dog’s feet from turning raw and hamburger-looking. These Ruffwear Bark’n Boots Grip Trex booties are cut snug so they won’t slide around and fall off as easily, plus they have sticky rubber soles to put four good soles on the ground. My dog is a 70-pound pulling machine, but these Flexi retractable leashes still manage to hold up. We’ve tried others, including one that only lasted 3 days, so the Flexi’s are worth the extra cost. Nonetheless they’re 40% off at Dog.com and almost the same price as the store-brands that don’t last long.
The prices at Dog.com are good all around, and hard to beat even if you have a coupon for other online pet shops. Plus, free shipping on $49+ orders and no sales tax outside of Pennsylvania.

We’re watching a friend’s sheep dog this weekend. Along with our malamute that makes for about 150 pounds of dog on two leashes and two directions at once. It also reminded me that we need to buy more dog food, poo bags, and maybe a few toys to keep them from fighting over the current favorite one.
This 10% off coupon for PETCO should work out perfectly. It’s good on any size order so even if I don’t stock up it’s worth a bit of discount. Valid until September 14th, 2008.

Not a bad coupon with summer starting, expecially if you need to stock up on food before boarding the pet during vacation or just need plenty for them to chew on if you’re lucky enough to plan a trip they can join you on. A big, fat 20% off coupon for any full-price item at REI is in my Saturday LA Times today. No need to run out and try to track one down though, the 20% off coupon is part of REIs anniversary sale and is good on orders placed by mail and phone too. Just mention coupon code ANNV7 at phone checkout or enter it into the coupon code box online and it will apply to the highest-priced camp, hike, or sports gear in your cart – with some exclusions, see small print paraphrased below.
Of course, the coupon’s small print:
Offer isn’t valid on sale items. REI membership required, but you can join for $15 at checkout.
